H24 HISTORY THROUGH THE AGES

This class covers the broad spectrum of history from Ancient Times to the present, sometimes with a broad brush and other times through minute by minute detail. The class has a "learning by doing" philosophy. Members are encouraged to contribute on history topics of their own choosing by researching the topic, then preparing their talk and presenting it to the class. Talks are typically an hour in length. Lively class discussion is strongly encouraged. Over the year, everyone has the chance to give a talk if they so choose (it is not obligatory).
Venue: 232 Adelaide St
Tuesday 9.00am - 10.15am. Classes start 15 July, finish 16 September.
Cost: $50 (prepaid), 10 weeks

In 2024, topics ranged from The History of Brisbane suburb Tennyson to The History of Indonesia, from 'The Great Stink (the sewering of London in the late 19th century)' to the career of Douglas MacArthur.
The class has been running in this format for many years, with a number of longstanding members.If you like variety in your learning about history, this class offers a veritable smorgasbord.
