J57 BASIC ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES

Do you wish to improve your English listening, speaking, reading and writing? Then this class is for you. Learn to construct everyday English sentences which will be useful in your daily life. Enjoy spending time with tutor Tove in a fun, happy and friendly environment and feel a sense of achievement by improving your conversational skills. Please contact Tove for more information.
Venue: 232 Adelaide St
Thursday 11.30am - 12.45pm. Classes start 17 July, finish 18 September.
Cost: $50 (prepaid), 10 weeks

Structure of English class 1. Introduction (students introduce themselves) 2. Listening and ask questions (students ask each other questions and give answers) 3. Vocabulary (learn new words) 4. Sentences ( make everyday sentences with the new words) 5. Reading text (read a text from book and understand text read) 6. Questions and answers about text read 7. Grammar (learn new grammar from 8. Homework (write a short story about your own life).
Tove is also an author of five books written in English: her knowledge of the study of a new language is immense.

About the Tutor:

Tove VineTove will teach from personal experience and knowledge as she arrived in Australia in 1969 from Denmark with very little English, but now 50 years later she considers English her mother tongue. She studied 6 languages while living in Europe, in addition, she has studied Mandarin over the past 16 years while living in China from 2003 to 2019.
