Tutor: Georgia Cummings
This class offers meditation and metta/loving kindness in the mindfulness (Vipassana) tradition. A weekly email includes topics related to the Theravadan Buddhist tradition as well as a broader range of subject matter. The class includes discussion around these related topics followed by 40 minutes of lightly guided practice seated in comfortable chairs. Our discussions in class may include philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, relationships, music, literature, different faith traditions and our current world environment. If you are new to mindfulness meditation information will be supplied and questions are welcome.
Venue: 232 Adelaide St
Tuesday 9.45am - 11.00am. Classes start 27 January, finish 31 March.
Cost: $50 (prepaid), 10 weeks

About the Tutor:
Georgia Cummings was educated in the nurse training school of Mater Misericordiae Hospital Sydney, graduating in 1973. Further education at Griffith University School of Nursing and Midwifery, included Bachelor of Nursing Post Registration 1992 and Master Advanced Practice Community Health and Primary Health Care 2008. Georgia has a special interest in palliative and end of life care and is a certified Buddhist chaplain. Joining U3A in 2014 to learn blogging, she volunteered as a tutor and has enjoyed meeting and working with U3A members ever since.If you are a U3A Brisbane member you may enrol in this class online using the Enrol button below.
