In this class, we read one book a term, meeting fortnightly to discuss the content so far, supported by presentations on key topics. In Term 1, the book will be End Times by Peter Turchin, a Professor in Complexity Science at the University of Connecticut, and a pioneer in cliodynamics, the science of making history predictable.. Published in 2023, End Times analyses how tension between humanity's elites and counter-elites has inevitably led to political disintegration - a surprisingly broad topic. To help you decide, see:
