Tutor: Brenda Cross
Podcasting is becoming increasingly popular as a means of promoting ideas, stories and knowledge in an entertaining fashion. Episodes are recorded, edited, and made available for download or streaming through platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or Google Podcasts. This class would examine all facets of podcasting, from the initial idea, to the presentation of niche programming, content, distribution, and promotion. We would discuss this in class, evaluate the available software, and share the experience of practical exercises for further learning techniques.
Monday 1.00pm - 3.00pm. Classes start 2 February, finish 6 April.
Cost: $25 (prepaid), 9 weeks
While the students are encouraged to create and air their own podcasts, we have the opportunity to collectively create and produce a dedicated U3A Audio Podcast. This in turn would allow many of the creative classes such as writing, poetry, music and drama, to entertain an audience, while, at the same time, interviews with tutors and guest speakers could help promote events and activities.
