Fears and problems: we seek hope, solutions, via politics, economics, to: Trump's Wars with Israel vs Iran, & vs U.S.democracy, world (tariffs, Latin America,etc); Israel vs Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon; Russia vs Ukraine; G7, BRICS; Climate, Environment; Inflation, Austerity, Preparing for War; Terrorism (Bondi), "Hate Crimes"; One Nation up, Coalition down; Money Politics, growing Inequality here, in US. UK, etc; other Dangers: Health: COVID, flu etc; Technology (AI), Education (public vs private schools; uni. crisis); and Social Divisions (rich vs rest, women's position, crushing dissent, media bias, racism, bigotry).

Wednesday 9.30am - 11.00am. Classes started 15 July, finish 16 September.

In economic thought we look at the key ideas of economic thinkers & how these still shape our world: Classical Liberals Adam Smith & David Ricardo; Revolutionary Socialist & Communist Karl Marx; Interventionist John Maynard Keynes; & Neoliberals Friedrich Hayek & Milton Friedman.
