M24 Soundscapes and Landscapes Classical Music and the Art of the Garden     NEW

Tutor: Barbara Levien
This richly illustrated 8-lesson course explores classical music through the visual world of great gardens and landscape design. From the grandeur of Versailles and the counterpoint of Bach to the atmospheric worlds of Debussy, Part, and contemporary eco-music, each lesson reveals how ideas about order, beauty, emotion, spirituality, and nature shaped both music and gardens across history. While the focus remains firmly on listening to and understanding music, gardens provide a fascinating visual parallel that brings musical styles and artistic ideas vividly to life.
Venue: 288 Edward St
Tuesday 11.15am - 12.30pm. 8 weeks. Classes start 28 July, finish 15 September.
Cost: $40 (prepaid), 8 weeks
