Tutor: Peter Moran
The aim of these sessions will be to make everyone happier by better understanding their bodies. Each bodily system will be explored with emphasis on why we are the way we are and also on the impact of aging on our body. There will not be specific discussion on diseases that impact our body, but hopefully members of the class will be better informed should they have the need to understand and ask informed questions about any health concerns with their medical practitioner. The last two sessions will be devoted to the wonders of modern Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.
Venue: 288 Edward St
Monday 1.00pm - 2.30pm. Classes started 13 July, finish 14 September.
Cost: $50 (prepaid), 10 weeks

Week 2 - The Cardiovascular System and Respiratory System.
Week 3 - The Cardiovascular System and Respiratory System.
Week 4 - The Central and Peripheral Nervous System.
Week 5 - The Endocrine System and Skin.
Week 6 - The Gastrointestinal and Renal System.
Week 7 - The Lymphopoietic and Immune System.
Week 8 - The Musculoskeletal System and Reproductive System.
Week 9 - The Wonders of Modern Anaesthesia.
Week 10 - The Wonders of Modern Intensive Care.

About the Tutor:

I am a retired doctor who worked at Princes Alexandra Hospital from 1976 until 2023, with secondments to other hospitals from 1976 to 1985. I was Director of Anaesthesia at PAH for 30 years. I was an examiner for the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists for 10 years, Chairman and a member of the ANZCA State Committee, as well as serving on the State Drug Committee and other services at a State level, but was always based in PAH. I have lectured at National and International meetings. I have also done a period of volunteer work teaching Anaesthesia in Khabarovsk, Siberia, in Russia.
