What we'll create this term, with sample photo books to browse. Choosing your book's theme: life story, family year, travels, or a grandchild's book.
Lesson 2 The great photo muster
Gathering photos from phones, cameras, computers, USB sticks, emails and the cloud and getting them all into one place.
Lesson 3 Rescuing your old prints
Digitising prints and album pages using just your phone (free scanning apps), plus when a flatbed scanner or scanning service is worth it. Handling fragile originals safely.
Lesson 4 Sorting the treasure
Simple foolproof organising: folders, dates and favourites. Culling duplicates and blurry shots without guilt.
Lesson 5 Making old photos look their best
Easy fixes anyone can do: crop, straighten, brighten. Repairing faded and damaged photos, including free AI restoration tools that feel like magic.
Lesson 6 Telling the story
A photo book is a story, not a pile of pictures. Choosing the photos that matter, writing captions people will actually read, and putting events in order.
Lesson 7 Choosing your photo book service
Comparing the popular Australian options and their costs, sizes and quality and the golden rule: never pay full price. We set up accounts and start a project.
Lesson 8 Building your book, part one
Covers, chapters and page layouts. Getting your first pages done in class with help on hand.
Lesson 9 Building your book, part two
Polishing: better layouts, final captions, proofreading tricks, and backing up your work and your photo collection.
Lesson 10 Order and celebrate
Final checks, ordering in time for Christmas delivery, and easy ways to share your book digitally with faraway family. Class show-and-tell to finish.
