Tutor: Andrew Macfarlane
This set of talks discusses how ways of living in cities have changed us as humans, how we accept the city as geography rather than a social expression, or a system of systems, all of which are affected by technology. The link between technology and the city and (now with cars) sub-urban living has been a feature of cities throughout history. As the stack of technologies has increased, what we take as our living standard has followed an aspirational track. In these talks the interaction of social philosophy and what we know of our city and how new technologies will affect life in the city is examined.
