This page provides information about access to our City Campus premises for those members who use wheelchairs or mobility aids.
232 Adelaide St Level 5 premises
The usual entrance to these premises involves 3 steps from footpath level. To access the building without steps, proceed to the corner of Adelaide St. and Creek St. and enter that building from Adelaide St. via the wide opening (as shown below). Proceed past the cafe area towards the escalators. To the left of the escalators is the lift vestibule. Enter the vestibule and press "G" (for Ground, as the Atrium level is designated) on the panel outside the lift.
The lift will take you to the Atrium (G) level. Proceed left from the lifts and you will see a set of 3-4 stairs. Go to the right, then left and you will find the ramp that takes you into Level 1 of the U3A building. Take the lift to level 5, then proceed to the right along the corridor to the U3A premises.
Exiting the building
To leave the building, simply reverse the process. Take either of the two lifts on level 5 down to level 1, proceed down the ramp to the Atrium, then go to the lifts. Only Lift C will take you down to ground level. Press button LG (Lower Ground) outside this lift. Exit the lift and follow the path alongside the cafe to Adelaide St.
Toilets
There are Disabled Toilets on the Creek St. side of the Atrium.
Emergencies
Please see the Emergency Evacuation Procedures. If you are in a wheelchair or have mobility issues, staff will arrange for you to be transported from the fireproof rear stairway.
97 Creek St. Ground floor premises
At Creek St there are 4 steps up from street level to access our ground floor premises. To bypass the steps, you need to contact the office on 3236 3055 once you are outside the building in Creek St. A staff member will open the Fire Exit door about 4 metres to the left of the steps. From there you can proceed direct to our premises. When leaving, ask a staff member to assist you in opening the doors.
Toilets
Unfortunately there are no disabled toilets in the Creek St. premises. You may use the nearby Adelaide St facilities in the Atrium (see above).
