This page provides information about access to our City Campus premises for those members who use wheelchairs or mobility aids.
Level 3, 288 Edward St (Highpoint Building)
The entrance to these premises is from Edward St between Ann St and Adelaide St on the City Hall side of Edward street. Unfortunately there is a slope upwards from Adelaide St. corner, or downwards from the Ann St. corner. Look for the Highpoint Building entrance about halfway up Edward St. There are no steps from the footpath to the building entry foyer. Proceed straight ahead to one of the floor selection panels near the lift vestibule. Select Floors 3-8 on the panel, then select Level 3. The panel will direct you to a particular lift (A-F). There are no floor buttons in the lift so you need to ensure you use the lift you were directed to. Exit the lift when it stops at level 3, where U3A occupies the entire floor. See our New Premises page for detailed information about location, floor plan etc.
Exiting the building
To leave the building, simply reverse the process. Take the lift down from Level 3 to Ground level.
Toilets
Standard male and female toilets are located at one end of the lift vestibule on Level 3. There is a Disabled Toilet on the Ground floor level. However, you will need to borrow a lift access fob from U3A Reception in order to access the Ground Floor toilets. The toilets are located near the large building directory sign to the right of the lift vestibule, as shown below. Touch the fob on the access panel near the door to open. Afterwards, please return to Level 3 to return the access fob to U3A Reception.

Emergencies
If there is an Emergency Evacuation alarm and you are in a wheelchair or have mobility issues, U3A's Fire Warden will arrange for you to wait in the exit stairwell for transport by responders.
